Log Search

Updated in Version 5.2

Apart from Keyword Searching, Searching for Logs will probably be your most frequent searching tool in CLIFF.

To search Logs for information in specific fields

  1. Click on the Search for Logs button in the CLIFF toolbar.
The Search for Logs window is displayed:

  2. Keyword

    Updated in Version 5.2

When you create or modify a Log CLIFF automatically generates keywords for the following data fields:

    • First Name and Last Name of authors entered in the Log and Additional Authors.
    • Company
    • Subject
    • The user-defined text fields
    • The user-defined pop-up fields
    • Deleting Referrals

Referrals should only be deleted if they are created in error. Even incorrectly assigned Referrals are worth keeping as they show the history of the Log activity. Referrals are deleted from within the Log.

      To Delete a Referral

      1. Open the Log that contains the Referral to be deleted.
      2. Click on the delete button for the Referral to be deleted.

      Forwarding Referrals

      Version 5.2

Each Office that receives a Referral may in turn forward the Referral to other Offices, thereby creating a hierarchical chain of Referrals. In the Log window, Referrals that have been forwarded are indented in the list providing a visual representation of the hierarchy.

Adding Existing Logs to a Batch

In many cases you will already have logged some documents for an issue before you decide to create a Batch. Once the Batch is created you want to add the logs you entered earlier without re-keying them.

To Add Logs to a Batch

      1. Create a selection or Mark the Log(s) you want to add to the batch.
      2. Click the Add to Batch button on the list Toolbar. The following window is displayed:
